Where should your business start with AI?

Map the work first

Choose a repeatable task and document how it currently happens. Note the people involved, the information required and the points where judgement matters.

Check the information available

Understand the quality, ownership and permitted use of the information involved. A promising idea may need better data foundations before AI becomes useful.

Keep the pilot bounded

Choose a small enough scope to review safely and learn quickly. Define when a person should check, approve or override an output.

Evaluate the whole workflow

Consider accuracy, time spent reviewing results, operating cost and the experience of the people using the system. Compare the pilot with the original process.
