What to ask a software delivery partner

Ask how scope becomes a plan

A delivery partner should explain how they turn business goals into priorities, milestones and acceptance criteria. Ask what happens when the requirements change.

Understand who does the work

Know who leads product decisions, who coordinates delivery and how you will communicate with the engineering team. Agree the responsibilities on both sides.

Look beyond launch day

Discuss documentation, source code access, testing, deployment and support early. A successful launch also needs an understandable handover.

Choose a clear first step

A defined discovery phase can help both teams understand the problem before committing to a larger build. Agree what that phase will produce and what decision follows.
